Types of Road Signs
Though there are only three sorts of traffic signals (Red for ‘Stop’, Yellow for ‘Look’, & Green for ‘Go’), there are many sorts of signs installed on roads.
Let’s first understand what the most purpose of road signs is. Simply put, they're meant to tell the passersby about what caution they have in touch to possess a smooth ride & reduce the probabilities of an accident.
1. Cautionary signs
These include ‘Slippery Road’, ‘Right Hand Curve’, & ‘Narrow Bridge’, etc., which tell the drivers about the way to next maneuver their vehicles. Accordingly, they manage the vehicle speed & stay during a particular lane.
2. Mandatory signs
‘Stop’, ‘No Entry’, & ‘Speed Limit’, etc. are those signs that, if not adhered to, are punishable by law. These signages are crucial to maintaining decorum on the road by ensuring that the principles are an equivalent for everybody.
3. Informative signs
As the name suggests, these inform the driving force about ‘Things or Places to seem out for.’ Passengers usually believe them to succeed in a specific destination. ‘Hospital Nearby’, ‘School Ahead’, ‘Police Station Ahead’, etc., are a couple of examples.
